The work Reconstructura comprise of three elements. The focal point of the installation is an object imitating a timber slice (ca. 120 cm diameter) serving as a double-sided screen. On the one side there is a video projection (tightly inscribed in its shape) showing the frame with a honeycomb and bees. On another side there is an outline of tree rings achieved with the aid of candle light passing by the cylindrical lens, which hung in a central position. The third element is complementary to the whole – the entomological showcase with word “imago” (Latin: picture, image; biology: mature stage of an insect; psychology: ideal, paradigm originating in childhood, referred to in adult life) pined on the entomological pin.
The idea of this project arose during an intimate, reclusive stay at the frozen lake and is aiming at reconstruction of misplaced or lost sectors of meaning, which inhere in human nature. It also articulates the desire to purify and reduce unnecessary gestures and behaviors acquired during a life time. Not without a reason, in the work appears a reference to the bees, as an example of perfectly structured and harmonized society.
